She studied architecture in Manchester UK and then earned a masters degree in Bioclimatic Design, an area of great interest to her. She worked in practices in London and Manchester before returning to Kos. Once in Kos, she worked with other architects before founding her own practice.
She was appointed Architectural consultant to the Mayor of iraklidon Municipality for two years to oversee ongoing architectural projects and she is currently a member of the Kos Architectural Board. Her work has been included in the first “Dodecanese Architecture” exhibition. Since 2005 Kalliopi has built up a varied portfolio of projects, including the design of houses and commercial buildings, with an emphasis on passive solar buildings. In collaboration with “Michalis Sofos and associates” she has worked on 4*and 5* hotel projects.
She is also an accredited Energy Performance Assessor and a Building Control Inspector.
Who We Are
The Architectural practice “Kalliopi Chalkidiou and Associates” is based in Kos and operates in the whole of the Dodecanese. It was founded in 2005 by Kalliopi Chalkidiou, an Architect. The practice has external associates of every specialty in the building industry, and is able to undertake a wide range of projects.
What We Offer
The practice covers the whole range of design and can secure planning permission for any kind of building project. Indicative services provided are Architectural design, landscape design, sustainable building renovation, energy performance improvement, interior design and custom furniture design.
